STUDENT INTEREST
Before registering your child, please be sure that your child WANTS to take the class and is ready to participate. Student interest is crucial to class success.
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
We make every effort to accommodate each child’s first or second choice of language but we cannot guarantee placement in any particular language. Whether a class or class level is offered depends on enrollments and availability of instructors.
MULTIPLE CHILD DISCOUNTS
For families with more than one child participating, we are offering a 10% discount for the second child and 15% for a third, if you choose to take it. If you are enrolling more than one child from Franklin-Randall, please fill out a separate registration form for each child.
SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!!
If cost is an obstacle, don’t hesitate to request a scholarship. Check the appropriate line on the registration form and DO NOT PAY ONLINE. We will contact you regarding scholarship opportunities and possible partial payment.
PLEASE SUPPORT THE PROGRAM
Consider supporting the program with an additional donation when you register. Any money brought in by the program not used for teachers, supplies or snacks goes into the scholarship fund to enable more kids to participate.
ALLERGIES
We provide nut-free snacks, but if your child has a specific or serious food allergy, we ask that you send them with an appropriate snack
BEHAVIOR
Appropriate, respectful, and courteous behavior will be required for participation. Repeated failure to behave appropriately will result in a verbal warning to the child involved, followed by a verbal warning to the parents, and if an issue remains, ultimately by removal of the student from the class. Teachers and parent volunteers are not equipped to deal with recurring discipline issues, and must ensure that classes are able to be held without disruption. FLP classes are loosely structured. If your child needs a lot of structure, the program may not be a good fit. If you are unsure about the readiness of your child, please let us know – we will work with you and your child’s classroom teacher to help set expectations and give your child an opportunity to participate.
CLASS CANCELLATION
If school is cancelled, foreign language classes will be cancelled as well. We will attempt to reschedule, but there will be no refund for a missed class if we are unable to reschedule. Cancellation information will be posted on this website.
